Our alpacas provide the manure that is the mainstay of our compost, but we have been raising alpacas for 6 years first of all for their incomparable fleece. We have always been committed to compost production as an aspect of sustainable agriculture. We have never used residual herbicides in our pastures and are careful to select the best hay for our herd.  Our friends have been coming by to pick up our compost with their trucks for years and last year a friend started reselling it by the pickup load to his customers. Everyone has been delighted with the way our compost improves their home garden production.

Some of our best producers!

We are pretty sure the alpacas think collecting their manure is what we live for. Sure as we get it all picked up, they generously present us with more! Alpacas use common dung piles so picking up our pastures is accomplished easily and at least once a day, every day.
